About Ashton
Ashton is a New York City based horn player who's purpose in life as a musician is to bring creativity, openness, and integrity to every musical setting while continuing to maintain artistic curiosity and an appreciation for music of all kinds.
Musical History
An active orchestral musician, Ashton is now a member of the Atlanta Ballet as a section horn member. Ashton has advanced as a finalist and runner up in the Airforce Premier Concert Band, as a semifinalist for the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra and the U.S. Army Pershing’s Own Ceremonial Band, was named runner-up for Associate Principal Horn with the Fairfax Orchestra, and has been offered a position with the Navy Fleet Bands and Air Force Regional Bands. Ashton has two degrees from the Manhattan School of Music (MM) and the Peabody Institute (BM). He has participated in masterclasses with leading horn pedagogues and orchestral musicians including Andrew Bain, Richard King, Cara Kizer, Kate Caliendo, Geoffrey Pilkington, David Byrd marrow, and most recently Radovan Vlatkovic among other renowned New York City Musicians.
The Beginning and Dreams
Ashton Grew up in Reno, NV and learned his love for the French Horn from his Father, Kevin Sady, Just before he turned ten going into the sixth grade. The Horn happened to be the first instrument that his father brought home, and ever since the very first note he managed to play, he has been in love with the music he has the opportunity to make every day. His primary dream in life is to one day be a member of a major orchestra to perform and discover the ranges of orchestral music.
Family
Very recently, Ashton has gotten married and has been enjoying his life with his new wife Sophie Chan-Sady. Holding a very musical household, they both hold an undergraduate degree from The Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. Together they love to find great musical opportunity in New York City as they work towards the life of professional musicians.
